Touch the
Gothic!
This city of Torun, situated around 200 km away
from Warsaw and 40 km from Golub-Dobrzyń, has over 300 historical monuments.
Toruń is one of the most beautiful cities of Poland. Picturesquely located on
the both banks of the Vistula River, at a site of intersection of ancient trade
routes, it has been propagating its traditional economy and openness to the
world for nearly 800 years.
Toruń is a town with much to offer, a place of
unique charm. With its architecture, it is a town where you can touch the
Gothic. Feel surrounded by old times, with every street, lane and
building having its own history. The medieval old town of Toruń was the
birthplace of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. In 1997 that part of
the city was designated to an UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2007 the Old Town
in Toruń was added to the list of Seven Wonders of Poland.
