Inside it, you will discover a postcard of the place we visited last tuesday, with a leaflet about the Citadel.
But you will also get an Easter Card made by Amandine, the gifted french student who prepared all cards with taste and patience.

POLAND: Field trip to Toruń - Touch the Gothic!

Touch the Gothic!

This city of Torun, situated around 200 km away from Warsaw and 40 km from Golub-Dobrzyń, has over 300 historical monuments. Toruń is one of the most beautiful cities of Poland. Picturesquely located on the both banks of the Vistula River, at a site of intersection of ancient trade routes, it has been propagating its traditional economy and openness to the world for nearly 800 years.

Toruń is a town with much to offer, a place of unique charm. With its architecture, it is a town where you can touch the Gothic. Feel surrounded by old times, with every  street, lane  and building having its own history. The medieval old town of Toruń was the birthplace of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. In 1997 that  part of the city was designated to an UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2007 the Old Town in Toruń was added to the list of Seven Wonders of Poland.

Today the French students went to Saint-Tropez, and they visited the Citadel of this lovely village.

The Nørrelands Church has a beautiful tower.


On top of the tower, you see a cube measuring 6x6x4 meters.
What’s the volume of the cube?
  Inside the cube, you find the bells. The church has a total of 48 bells.
How much space would each bell fill out if 20m³ needs to be vacant?
  The Woman on a Cart sculpture did cost 210,000 DKK. The Carlsberg Fund paid 28.57% of the price.
